Hokay. Continuing on with my streak of being mean and actually doing administrator work...
It has come to my attention that two things are happening that are going to stop.
1) I had to implement word censors because some people were getting uppity about swearing and some people were really abusing my love for "free speech." Now, the specific word censors that are in effect are hilarious and I love them (for example, type the word "c-u-n-t" and see what comes up) but I HATE HATE HATE word censors in general because:
A) I seriously really really am married to the First Amendment
B) I swear more than all of you put together
C) It's the FRIGGEN INTERNET!
So needless to say, I was not happy to do this. I'm going to keep the censors on for a couple of weeks and then, if you're all good, I'll probably take them off. But I have two messages for everyone.
A) If you're offended by swearing, get over it. This is the internet and (unless you're an admin) you don't have the right nor the ability to censor anyone on this forum. If you have a problem with swearing, don't swear.
B) If you're one of the people egging on the anti-swearers, cut it out. It's juvenille and all you're doing is making yourself look like a jerk; it's not impressing anyone. The ADULT board SPECIFICALLY says that it's there for reasons like "excessive swearing" so if you need to get out a string of profanity, do it there.
Done and done.
2) This has been going on since this forum's conception but then it leveled off and I thought we had gotten over it. After a resurgance, I'm now putting a stop to it.
One word posts or posts that are obviously worthless EXCEPT for raising postcount++ are now forbidden. No more "WTF" or "OMG" posts because they clutter the board, they don't contribute anything relevant to the thread and they're annoying. If anyone persists in this, I'm turning off your postcount++
Actually, I've been thining about turning off postcount++ all together but, I'll be diplomatic for once in my life and leave that up to the forum members.
POLL: Should I turn off postcount++
Vote in the poll and we'll go by majority-rules.
(P.S. Poll will close two weeks from today -> April 3)
Anyway, where was I? Oh right, stop the one-liners, you're not clever. The ONLY exception is if someone has a legitimate ORLY? at the end of their post (legitimate as in, it's a logical part of their post in its entirety). Then the next person is REQUIRED to write YARLY! or else they're banned. Don't judge me...I f-ing love /b/ like a child.

I voted no, because just taking away post counts won't stop people from making one word posts. They'll just be cluttering the forums with one word posts and not raising their post counts...
At least, I think that'll be what happens...
I have to eat fish now. Mmm, fish.
EDIT: Hey, if anyone wants postcount+#, go to my forums.
Put videos of my courses on YouTube and you'll get a surprise... besides better courses.

Thank you, csd, for being the first to participate. You also reminded me of something. Pretty please, if you vote in the poll, discuss why you voted as you did. I ask this because, I have a preference as to whether or not postcount++ is turned off and I will be far more likely to listen to dissenting opinions if they're well thought-out and logical instead of,
YES b/c pstcont is dum lolol. or NO b/c pstcont is gr8 lolol.
To answer csd's concern, what I'm going to ask is that the mods start cracking down on one-word posts if they continue. This should be done whether or not we get rid of it, which should stop this crap either way.
Enjoy your fish.

It's very hot. It'll burn me.
Be warned, I rarely see people post reasons for their vote anymore...

I don't really see postcount as anything important, so I voted yes.
It doesn't really make anyone better that anyone else, but it does cause extreme cluttering and random spamming sprees.
Oh, and Rayword's posts in this topic are prime examples.
Rayword, there's something called the "edit" button.
Learn to use it like it had tons and tons of money.

I voted no, and here is why.
Forums, and mainly the SM Community have been going on a downhill slope as far as how active it is and the kind of users that sign on here. It's getting worse to the point that every site will become another 4chan... random posts that make no sense whatsoever while having the intent to flame someone in the process.
The fact that your cracking down on it is a good thing... in fact you are the only admin so far that's actualy doing it. However, the fact that everyone has to suffer because of a select few is not fair IMO. That's just a cheap and easy way of dealing with stupid crap... its mostly used in schools, and i never liked it cause I always got in trouble as well even though I was the one that was harassed by the offender... but i digress.
The post count thing is there because it gives the poster a sense of accomplishment. "Hi, I made a post that was well thought out in a way, and yay my nu7mber keeps growing soon I will become one of the ranks now"... thats basically what goes through most people's minds. If you take that away, their hope is gone, and it'll become as if posting has no meaning anymore. PLUS, it wouldn't even matter to the offenders that abuse this priviledge cause DDRFreak doesn't have any post counts above their avitars and people still continue to act like immature retards.
I say, deal with the offenders one on one... that way the sanctity of the forums arent disturbed, and you are assured that your message got through to the people that it's supposed to get through. And if for some messed up reason they do it again, you can ban them or whatever.

I voted "no." I'd give a detailed explanation of my opinions on the subject, but CMG pretty much nailed it right on already.
